Interphex 2022 Recap

There was quite a lot riding on this year’s Interphex tradeshow in NYC last week. Everyone in the bioprocess industry hoped it would be a full reunion of industry players, and folks from around the world would again attend in person. It proved to be that and more as over 11,000 attendees brought participation levels back to pre-COVID levels. The show floor was busy through the entire 2-½ days, even though the 2021 show was held only seven months earlier.

I noticed more requests for our Purillex® jar and other wide-mouth container products for regenerative medicine applications. With a variety of working volumes up to 4 L, these containers are leak-proof and gentle to living tissues and cells. They are also the ideal container to ship tissues from lab to clinic.

Supply constraints were still at the top of the minds of attendees. As I reported back in October, most anticipated that limitations would continue through 2022, and the trend continues in the blurring of lines between the traditional part suppliers and service providers. More suppliers now offer full integration services, including Savillex. However, the underlying problems of component supply continue, exacerbated by global supply disruptions and insecurity. Working with US-based suppliers certainly seems advantageous in this environment.

One matter you can count on is that Savillex will continue to specialize in being your US-based supply partner for single-use fluoropolymer bottles as well as bottle assemblies and tubing sets. We continue to manufacture our bottles right here in Eden Prairie, MN and have a new 1,300 square ft cleanroom dedicated to single-use integration services. As a result, we have the speed, capacity, and flexibility needed in today’s supply-constrained environment.
